Brendan McCreanor (Ireland)

Brendan McCreanor is an award winning traditional Irish musician from Dunleer, County Louth. A master uilleann piper, he also plays whistles, fiddle and flute. A BA Honours graduate in Applied Music from DkIT in 2008, he also holds a BA in Communications in Multimedia.

As well as performing and touring, Brendan has played uilleann pipes and low whistle with artists such as the award-winning band KERN, Weissenbourn guitar player John Wilde, rock legend Pat McManus and harpist Deirdre Granville. Brendan has been touring, performing and a freelance recording artist, on a regular basis, since 2009. His musical talent has taken him to Europe, Russia, America, Asia and Australia. Highlights including Boxful of Treasures concert series in Italy, Volmarstein Folk Festival in Germany, Celtic Connections in Glasgow, St Patrick’s Day Festival and Samhain Festival in Russia and St. Patrick’s Day Festival in Sri Lanka.

His recording talents can be heard on False Deceiver by Kern, Imram by Deirdre Granville, A Cruel Kindness by Fiona Cuthill and Stevie Lawrence, Dark Emerald Highway, Pat McManus Band, Live in Ireland-Pat McManus-DVD and on Baile An Salsa’s second album, Ériu.

Brendan is uilleann pipes tutor in Dundalk Institute of Technology and also facilitates the Slow Session at the Droichead Arts Centre in Drogheda. He is also qualified as a hospital musician with Kids Classics, which operates nationwide.
